Updated: Apr 5, 2022

Our 2022 Labor Law Seminar is on April 5, 2022, in Napa, California. The presentation will cover new laws from the past year as well as recent court cases and administrative developments. Some topics include:

• COVID-19 exposure notification, workplace standards, and mandatory employee recall • Mandatory vaccine policies and disability or religious accommodation • Minimum wage and other wage-payment changes (and new criminal penalties) • Leave requirements, including COVID-related Supplemental Paid Sick Leave and family medical leave • State and federal limitation of employment arbitration agreements • Changes to severance agreement rules • Employee record retention and posting • Massive new Cal-OSHA citation and enforcement tools • Wildfire smoke protection • Federal NLRB policies affecting non-union employers

Our 2021 Mid-Year Employment Law Update is on July 13, 2021. The presentation includes developments over the past year (because many people were unable to attend year-end updates due to the pandemic) as well as an extensively updated discussion of current COVID-related topics.

The presentation also addresses important employment-law developments such as 2021 changes to state independent contractor standards, other legislative changes, shifting positions in federal agencies, and some comments about recent caselaw.

The full presentation can be viewed in .pdf format here.

Thanks and best wishes to all our clients and colleagues as the community returns to a new normal!

The pandemic has put off most of the firm's in-person presentations and updates, which we usually post on our blog. This year, however, we were able to present a legislative update covering developments for 2021 on a range of topics such as COVID-related legislation, additional leaves and expansion of CFRA to small employers, independent contractor refinements, wage-and-hour changes, and various other areas.

Feel free to review our presentation online here and, as always, feel free to contact us with any questions.
